Reaction Speed
Wait for the circle to turn red, then tap as fast as you can!
How to Play the Reaction Speed Test
The Reaction Speed game is simple: wait for the circle to turn from green to red, then respond as fast as you can — click, tap, or press the spacebar. The circle turns red after a random delay (1–5 seconds), so you cannot predict when. If you respond too early, it counts as a false start. After each round, your reaction time in milliseconds is displayed. Play 5 rounds in a row to get a reliable average.
What Your Reaction Time Means
Most adults score 200–250 milliseconds on this simple reaction test. Elite athletes and competitive gamers score 150–200 ms. Your reaction time is affected by sleep, hydration, temperature, and distractions — fix these first before trying to "train" your speed. Consistent sleep (7–9 hours) is the single biggest lever. Short warm-up rounds before a session you care about can shave 30–50 ms off your first round. Schulte grid training also helps by speeding up visual processing, the front half of the reaction loop.
